Meet Our Westside LA Veterinarians
At Overland Veterinary Clinic in Westside LA, our veterinarians are the backbone of our practice. We are proud to staff our hospital with some of the most caring and conscientious veterinarians in Westside LA. Introducing, our animal hospital team:
Louis A. Schwartz
Dr. Schwartz is a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and has over 20 years of veterinary experience. He embarked on his veterinary career when he was 13 years old, working as a vet assistant for 14 years during high school and college. Dr. Schwartz looks forward to providing your pet with the best possible medical care.
Jane J. Park
Dr. Park was born and raised in southern California. She attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate career, majoring in biology, before obtaining a doctorate in veterinary medicine at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Park completed post-doctorate training through the internship program at Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in Los Angeles, where she further developed her emergency and clinical skills. Her special interests include pet surgery, medicine, and cardiology. After completing her internship, she has enjoyed general practice in small animal medicine and is looking forward to serving the needs of your furry companions.
Jasmine E. Flanagan
Dr. Flanagan graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. As a foreign graduate, the licensing process is more time consuming and rigorous, so while she was waiting to take the boards, she worked in a veterinary specialty practice until receiving her license. Dr. Flanagan spent 17 years working in Studio City until recently finding a new home here at Overland Veterinary Clinic. She is fluent in Spanish and is comfortable with most of the exotic species kept as pets.
Dr. Verayo was born and raised in the Los Angeles area and graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. She later obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Verayo has experience in both shelter and small animal medicine. Areas of veterinary medicine she particularly enjoys include general practice, surgery, and dermatology. Dr. Verayo and her husband have one daughter, and a senior dog named Bam Bam.
Dr. Sharzad Taji started her doctorate of veterinary medicine in Shiraz University in Iran in 2002, followed by her ECFVG program at Oklahoma State University. Upon graduation, she completed an internship in internal medicine and surgery in San Diego. Outside of her profession, Dr. Taji enjoys spending family time with her husband and her two sons.
Dr. Forsythe was born in Taiwan and lived in Australia, Denmark, and Sweden while growing up. He received his DVM from Purdue University in 1997 and his areas of interest include brachycephalic breeds, geriatric medicine, dermatology, preventative medicine, and exotic animal medicine. Dr. Forsythe has two grown children who are his pride and joy and the center of his universe. As a veterinarian, Dr. Forsythe wholeheartedly subscribes to the idea that “nobody cares how much you know ’til they know how much you care.” Consequently, he is very happy to be a part of the team at Overland to help enhance the special bond you have with your pets and help them live the healthiest, happiest, longest lives possible.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Lopez received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. He successfully completed the rigorous testing and publishing requirements set by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine to become a Board-Certified Specialist.
Dr. Lopez has experience in all aspects of internal medicine, with a special interest in diseases of the kidneys and bladder, immune-mediated disease, and endocrine diseases such as diabetes, Addison’s, Cushing’s, and hyperthyroidism. He also has extensive training in ultrasound and the diagnosis and management of heart disease. He has lectured both nationally and internationally and has authored two chapters for The Clinical Veterinary Advisor textbook, as well as chapters in The Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
