Meet Our Westside LA Veterinarians
At Overland Veterinary Clinic in Westside LA, our veterinarians are the backbone of our practice. We are proud to staff our hospital with some of the most caring and conscientious veterinarians in Westside LA. Introducing, our animal hospital team:
Louis A. Schwartz
Dr. Schwartz is a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and has over 20 years of veterinary experience. He embarked on his veterinary career when he was 13 years old, working as a vet assistant for 14 years during high school and college. Dr. Schwartz looks forward to providing your pet with the best possible medical care.
Jane J. Park
Dr. Park was born and raised in southern California. She attended UC Berkeley for her undergraduate career, majoring in biology, before obtaining a doctorate in veterinary medicine at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Park completed post-doctorate training through the internship program at Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in Los Angeles, where she further developed her emergency and clinical skills. Her special interests include pet surgery, medicine, and cardiology. After completing her internship, she has enjoyed general practice in small animal medicine, and is looking forward to serving the needs of your furry companions.
Jasmine E. Flanagan
Dr. Flanagan graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. As a foreign graduate, the licensing process is more time consuming and rigorous, so while she was waiting to take the boards, she worked in a veterinary specialty practice until receiving her license. Dr. Flanagan spent 17 years working in Studio City until recently finding a new home here at Overland Veterinary Clinic. She is fluent in Spanish and is comfortable with most of the exotic species kept as pets.
Dr. Verayo was born and raised in the Los Angeles area, and graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. She later obtained her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Verayo has experience in both shelter and small animal medicine. Areas of veterinary medicine she particularly enjoys include general practice, surgery, and dermatology. Dr. Verayo and her husband have one daughter, and a senior dog named Bam Bam.
Dr. Michaels obtained his Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree (BVSc) in 1987 from Zagazig University in Zagazig, Egypt, and obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 1995 from the University of Missouri. He has practiced small animal medicine in various states around the country, including Arizona, Pennsylvania, Washington, Florida, and, of course, California. He also owned and operated his own practice for about 10 years in the Greater South Bay area. For approximately 8 years, Dr. Michaels held the position of Medical Director in the Inland Empire region. He and his wife, Nancy, have been married since 1991, and they have 2 daughters, Christine and Brynn. His family also includes Einstein, a Schnauzer mix, and 3 cats: Boo 89, Amun Ra, and Jasmine 315.
